City Adds Funds For Catholic, Jewish Schools

Submitted by kim, Nov 11, 2006 17:04

Hello,

Our school is in need of funds. One thing is that when people hear Catholic School they assume that the school is funded by the diocese. It is not funded by the diocese if it were funded we could be in jeopardy of being closed. The church no longer helps the school with any funds. I really think that the city should help. If all of the catholic school were to close, our city schools would be way over crowded, which they already are. My tax dollars go to fund city schools and IM happy about that. Its great for children to have all that schools offer. I have three children in catholic school I pay for that, its an investment in my children's future. We struggle to do it. As the home school president of our school I know what is going on in the school and what need to be fixed, the school has no extra money for any after school programs, we would have to pay someone to do that. We have fundraisers like bake sales and penny socials and flea markets. How do I go about getting information for funding?????? I also work in a public school, I see how funds are spent there and I know that children in catholic schools should be offered that as well.

Thank You
