Bolton: U.S. Should Pursue Regime Change in Iran

Submitted by Scott Baker, Mar 5, 2007 12:24

Why is no one proposing the obvious? The only non-military way to bring Iran to heel is to get the world to stop buying their friggin oil. Hard? Yes, but so is war - especially for our over-stretched military, and we should be under no illusions about a coalition. In fact, we would probably have both China and Russia against us. On the other hand, they might stop buying Iranian oil, or at least not oppose our efforts to get the rest of the world to do so. Could Ahmadinejad survive a month without 60% of his country's income coming in? Two months? How long until the Ayatollahs reign him in, or there's a homegrown regime change?
