Preschool Directors Balk at Toddler Résumés

I found Ms. Birkner's article fascinating, in a wreck-beside-the-road sort of way (is this actually happening?) The admissions officers who dun parents for over-the-top attempts to gain entrance for their offspring may be hoist on their own petard, however. Isn't the whole concept of a preschool admissions officer over the top? Should there be such a thing as an application to preschool, beyond a sheet requesting the necessary demographics and contact information? At two and three years of age, children should be considered equal, even if these too-wealthy-for-anyone's-good families make that idea a laughable one. Let entrance be granted on a first come, first served basis and then maybe the supply for the demanded resume building classes for tots will dry up, and our children can concentrate on building internal resources, intelligence, and imagination.
