The United States government needs to ask itself a question. Does it want to hand-out money to a powerless government in Africa lead by a man many consider a warlord and a regime that has proven to be uneffective and desperate. Why not reward the regions in Africa where democratic institutions are already in place and actually control the areas they claim to administer? Case in point would be the peaceful enclave of Somaliland in the North of Somalia which much of the world has decided to ignore and if anything deserve to benefit from any aid given to the region by the outside world.
The US should put its money where its mouth is. The only legimate government in Somalia, is the government of Somaliland which has a proven track-record of democracy and good governance.
