James A. Baker III is senior partner in Baker Botts. They are defending Saudi Arabia in a 9-11 lawsuit. Lee Hamilton has cleared Bush family operatives in Iran Contra and October Surprise investigations. The latter was the allegation that Bush Sr negotiated with Iran in 1980 to hold up the hostage negotiation. Iran knows if its true or not. Assuming its not true, they certainly know details of Iran Contra that didn't become public. This gives them leverage over Bush Sr operatives.

Remember, Bush Sr pardoned people for Iran Contra. Judge Silberman also dismissed convictions. Iran, by definition, knows about Iran Contra.

Hamilton cleared Saudi Arabia and Pakistan in the 9-11 Commission even after Congress in 2003 had 27 pages that linked Saudi Arabia to them.

The only thing holding up the report is for Prince Bandar and Prince Turki to approve the final version.
