Although you make a good case that a "Spain" scenario altered America's vote, I respectfully disagree. Loss of Congress was caused by something far more heinous because it came from within--because it was stirring deep in the bowels of America. The Democrats won Congress because at least 90% of the media/press coverage is biased in favor of the Democrats.
I have never read a more virulent press or listened to more partisan newscasters. The fourth estate is no longer reporting the news, they are influencing and ultimately making the news, which seems just a tad Fascistic to this writer. If The New York Times had ran one positive headline about the war in Iraq or alternatively a headline denouncing the hellishness of the insurgents, whom, in no uncertain terms, are waging jihad against the American people and who are murdering their own people in an attempt to destabilize Iraq, or a headline that lauds President Bush's strong economy and low jobless rate, the Republicans might have kept Congress. This change of Congress is the result of a continuously loud and biased media.
