I cannot even begin to understand why Novak agreed to keep his information about Armitage as his source. Once he gave the information to Fitzgerald there was no compelling reason to keep it confidential. Armitage had already fessed up. Here was a journarlist with an exclusive story and he kept quiet. Could it be that Fitzgerald threatned him. I wish we knew why. Early disclosure would have shed light on Fitzgerald's underlying motive. I suspect that motive was not to seek justice but to flex unlimited muscle unrestained by any check or balance. In short, it was all about Fitzgerald. After spending millions of govermant funds disrupting the functioning of the presidency one can only hope that his next assignment involves trivial matters where he has no discretion.
