Rebels With A Cause - Conservatism

Submitted by Kevin Cassidy, Nov 14, 2006 19:33

"Smaller government, less regulation, strong defense, and civil rights for all." Ok, I can maybe see less regulation (barely), but the current administration has grown government, hamstrung the military and reduced its deterrent impact on the remaining axis of evil members, and actively campaigned against civil rights for certain groups (e.g. gays).

As one with a libertarian bent, W is the worst of all worlds--growing the beast (while starving it so future generations pay) and trying to insert the government into our bedrooms.

Perhaps if people focused less on ketchup and more on what being a conservative ought to mean, things would be better.
