Speaker Will Seek To Set War Deadline

The liberals are drawing a line in the sand, establishing their absolute opposition to Bush's war. They are interpreting the election as a mandate to stop the war, which may not be so . That is, stop the war on terrorism. But that is how they are positioning themselves. I doubt that they the true broad stretch of american opinion really want to lose in Iraq, as the lberals perceive. I think the sentiment that was there in November will not be there if the serge succeeds and the war succeeds. Having established such a definitive position, the liberals will not be able to deviatre from tjhis line in the sand, if and when the war succeeds within the year. They may be setting themselves up not for a landslide victory but a landslide defeat in 2008.
