Report: Almost Half City's Middle Schools Are Failing

Submitted by Ginny, Mar 10, 2007 09:22

New York City Teacher Recruitment Office really is not looking for the best and the brightest, they are looking for black and hispanic teachers. Equity only exists in print and only for minorities. If you are white, female (and God forbid, over 50) your credentials, teaching experience, amazing contributions that you can make will not mean a thing. However, if you are black and/or hispanic, with little experience and average credentials ---you are guaranteed a job! Amazaing!
So, the middle school problem will continue when bias exists with the Recruitment Office of Teachers in New York City.
