The D.C. Court of Appeals made a decision based on clear logic and reason, and avoided the act of "judicial activism." I commend their decision, and consider it a great civil rights victory for all Americans.

Proponents of so called gun-control as crime control have said that they only want sensible regulations on guns, therefore they should also be pleased with this decision, as it would not prevent reasonable regulations on firearms. The D.C. Court of Appeals decision will only prevent an unconstitutional prohibition on guns.

Any reasonable person should see that the D.C. ban on handguns prevented honest law-abiding citizens from protecting themselves, and clearly infringed on the constitutional rights of the residents of D.C.

The D.C. Court of Appeals has demonstrated their commitment to our Bill of Rights and freedom in general.
