thanks for the sensible perspective. i'm tired of all the moralism around steroids, which only affects baseball, despite the fact that football players also are testing positive for substance and receiving slaps on the wrist, and which has for some reason emerged now, despite the fact that steroid talk has been swirling since the late 80s (at least), and despite the fact that baseball players and athletes have always looked for anything that will give them a competitive edge (see "Saint" Hank Aaron and greenie use) and the sport has never ever been pure. It has, however, always been full of moralists and blowhards in search of a pulpit (see Ken Burns' documentary on the history of baseball).
