Maybe I'm missing something, but to the extent that you were silenced, it seems you were responsible for that. You had the opportunity to defend yourself and explain yourself and if you didn't take it, that was your fault. The entire piece seems a bit passive aggressive. What did you expect your classmates to do when you told them you were against abortion, hug you? If you didn't agree with the definition of 'rape' others worked with, why exactly didn't you speak up? It's not as if the dean of students was going to take away privileges or suspend your scholarship. Instead of blaming others, maybe you should own up to the fact that you simply didn't have the intellectual courage to stand up for yourself.
