While most of the media is agog over Senator Clinton the truth is she is a weak candidate and not very good at this business of running for high office. This is why every little slip she makes has an immediate impact on her polling numbers. Candidates like President Regan and President Bill Clinton were strong candidates and excellent at the job of running for high office. People will forgive the slight errors that a strong candidate makes as they believe in that candidate. Strong candidates don't have to get every issue right either because people believe they excercise good judgement and they will make good decisions. Therefore they need not change their positions to conform to various constituencies as those constituencies have already bought into them. Senator Obama's run is very reminescent of those campagins of Ted Kennedy against President Carter and Pat Buchanan against President Bush 41. While neither gained their party's nomination they did expose the inherent weakness in the actual nominees.
