Telling people not to eat kangaroos is really just speciesism. If meat is going to be eaten in Australia then the only environmentally sensible meat to eat is that from native wildlife. The environmental destruction caused directly or indirectly by the introduction of sheep and cattle to Australia is truly huge.

Kangaroo meat is healthy, tasty and cheap (and I speak as a vegetarian). I too find the killing of roos distressing but unless and until we all become vegetarians, tuck into those roo snags with a clear conscience.
