Wow. That's all that comes to my mind when I think about President Bush and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. I remeber only several months ago when everything, from the War on Terror in Iraq and Afghanistan to the Republican Party's future, seemed hopeless and a lost cause. The Democrats' landslide midterm victories in both houses of Congress, the supposed overwhelming opposition to the War on Terror, particularly in Iraq, and the growing discord within the Republican Party was frightening and I truly believed that that was it for the Republican party.

But I could not have been more wrong. President Bush and Senator McConnell have admirably and laudably shown their political courage, determination, and steadfastness. Most importantly, they have demonstrated their leadership abilities by reuniting the Republican Party in possibly one of the most trying times in its history. I truly believe, as President Bush and Senator McConnell do, that America must be successful in Iraq and I find no sense in simply walking away. I thank God for President Bush and Senator McConnell because they are doing what they believe is right and in the best interest of this great nation, without regard to the political consequences and personal persecution that they will face.

God Bless America; the brave men and women fighting for America; and America's leaders who love and are willing to sacrifice themselves for its future!
