Children are failing in the public schools for the curriculum that is implanted to be taught by the chancellor and associates. For the reading program they have this stupid balanced Literacy that they bought for millions of dollars and does not teach the children to read. For Math they have the Everyday Math where a teacher has to teach so many different skills in one chapter and not the 4 basic computation skills. If you compare the curriculum from the public and private schools you can be very upset. In the private schools they spend $3.500 to educate a child. The public schools spend $10.000 to educate a student. In the private schools the children learn to read and are knowledgable of their Math skills. In the public schools the children struggle with their learning not because of the curriculum implanted. Who is at fault? The chancellor and associated that buy these expensive programs that do not work.

Public schools are loaded with books, furniture, tutoring services, different programs and so on. Principals hire their friends to teach Reading and math off-status paying them more than $350 a day. Who supervises them? Nobody. The chancellor is spending so much money hiring these consultants for Columbia, Princeton Review, NYU to monitor the teachers? Who monitors the chancellor, the principals, and assitant principals? Public schools have tons of money and fail to educate the children because of these stupid programs and curriculum they implement in the schools. Plus the principals and assistant principals do not help teachers they just critisied them. It is time to have real educators in the public schools and not the mayor's or chncellors friends.
