40 Years Later, Another March on the Pentagon

Submitted by bob byrne, Mar 18, 2007 16:20

i spent 6 years in the USN. it was during the Vietnam War, but i was on a carrier on the east coast and the Med. a part of the reason i marched is because of the poor treatment our Iraq war veterans are receiving for their medical care and psychological issues. my sister's ex-husband had some serious issues after Vietnam and did not get the care he should have. the cost of one day of hte war could provide care to all of the Iraq veterans. a couple days cost could go to provide care to all those vietnam vets who still after all these years are treating for medical and emotional problems. i was upset over some of the signs and statements from the counterdemonstrators that accused me of being a traitor. i gave up time with family, money, sleep, etc. to go to DC to march. i respect all the vets who have fought and have their opinions. i am going to a dinner to honor my dad and other WWII vets who are still alive and i will show my respect to them and their opinions. but i do not approve of the war, its cost, and the lies behind it.
