Blame America First Crowd

Amen to that. Would you could induce the Suns editors to open a daily (weekly) dialogue soliciting information, facts etc. which would inform and engage readers in historical truths. It doesn't have to be boring or typical. After searching fruitlessly throughout my local (Catskill-Ramapo) library system as well as the NY State Education resources online for the database on the 'Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade" I wound up having to purchase it and then donate to the library.

One questions why the admittedly most comprehensive research ever completed on this subject - sponsored by Harvard with W.E.B. Dubois society - was so glaringly missing from access? The answer lay in the researches unanticipated conclusions. As a country the U.S. was involved in less than 2-3 % of the total number of Africans brought by slavers to the New World. Keeping the masses barefoot and pregnant still seems to work for the demagogues and race hustlers.
