Study Says City's Truck Routes ‘No Longer Make Sense'

Submitted by Anthony Nunziato, Mar 19, 2007 10:56

Mr. Liu should do his homework before commenting on a project... Cross Harbor does not take trucks

off our crowded streets it directs them all to leave out of one depot, which is in Queens. Imagine all the

trucks that come into New York from dozens of entries and going to all different boros to service their

needs. Now imagine all the trucks servicing all the boros leaving from one area.. it would be a Disaster.

The way Mr.Liu talks as if the trucks will all disappear and a train is going to pull up to every little store. Mr.

Liu should look into a project before blindly backing one.. Using the rail is an excellent idea.. Cross Harbor isn't. This would be New Yorks "BIg Dig" with worse results.
