Addressing American Complicity

Oren provides excellent context for Bergson's activities in his new book Power, Faith & Fantasy: America in the Middle East, 1776 to the Present (which edged into a second week on the NYT best seller list yesterday) -- see especially pages 442-444 + 467. Even towards the end of the war, when Roosevelt met with ibn Saud after Yalta & tried to persuade him to approve the transfer of the remnant to Palestine, the answer was an immediate NO! We must try to understand all of these historical events in context as best we can, painful as that might be.
