NYC: Bloomberg Would Be Better President Than Giuliani

I couldn't disagree more with the respondents to the Quinnipiac poll. Bloomberg did not create the city that New York has become--he had the good fortune to inherit it from Mr. Giuliani. Mr. Giuliani took over a city in its death throes, and by sheer force of character and leadership, restored it financially, dramatically reduced crime, made it a place one might want to invest in, restored civic pride, and in countless other ways, made New York City a place people would want to live in. Nothing Bloomberg has done approaches the accomplishments of Mayor Giuliani. The best that can be said for him is that he had the good sense not to squander what had been given to him.
