How can you trust Brownback's judgment on the most important issue of the day when it apparently is simply determined by the polls? He put a finger in the air to test the wind, then he jumped on the Democrats' "let's retreat" band wagon. Then he smuggly put his finger back in the air to revel in his self-image of his leadership, but instead perceived the Republican wind was directed a little differently. So now he has a new, tougher position on Iraq. Does that sound like potential commander-in-chief? Leadership and judgment should not be based on the polls - Mr. Browmback has a lot of ground to make up and it will take a long time.
