Having been fortunate enough to meet Senator Brownback and talk with him, I cannot more forcefully disagree with those who see him as a "political hack" or the like. Sen. Brownback is clearly and consistently a man of great integrity and faith, willing to stand where few will, whether it be with regards to Sudan, Iran, or even Iraq. He has been the strongest voice in the realm when it comes to human rights and freedom, combating slavery, genocide, and terrorism wherever and whenever they arise. He is asking that his party give him the standard to carry in the next presidential election; they could do far, far worse.
