is Spitzer going to pursue this, or will he continue to allow hospitals that accept Medicaid/govt. funds to continue paying their executives millions of dollars for their salaries? And, if he wants to promote access to health care, will he insist that the out-patient offices that are part of non-profit hospitals' complexes take all insurance? Take Columbia Presbyterian, for example. Its outpatient facility at 161 Ft. Washington Ave. was built with govt. assistance and it gets a property tax exemption. Nonetheless, it is hard to find doctors there who will take the full array of the various health insurance plans out there. This is not only true at Columbia's facilities. It is true at facilities at other non-profit hospitals, and it is time that this abuse be stopped, so that access to health care can be promoted.
