Perhaps it is not necessary to exercise total control of the present in order to control the past and thereby redirect the unfolding of the future. Domination of the Commanding Heights Of Knowledge Propagation may be sufficient to enable the creation of an alternate reality that includes more desirable allocations of status and power. Is a demonstrable falsehood, believed to be true by everyone whose opinion counts, truly a lie? Perhaps a brief contemplation of the power base of Dear Leader Kim Jong Il, that splendid Leninist, would provide the answer.
