According to Richard Daynard, Director of the Tobacco Litigation Project of Northeastern University, trial attorneys Richard Scrugss and Ronald Motley each made personally a billion dollars from the state attorneys generals' lawsuit against the tobacco industry. Daynard claimed Scgs and Motley owed him 5% of their take, sued them, and settled out of court for an undisclosed sum. I guess they would all say it's doing well by doing good!
