If the English speaking peoples have been so peaceful, Michael Barone ought to explain to his readers why it was once said that the sun never sets on the British Empire, and why the United States is now seen as inheriting that empire? He is right about blaming the "affluent educated" types for a view contrary to his. You have to be affluent to afford an educatiion and educated to distinguish the truth from the nonsense Barone and his ilk in the main stream media disseminate. His was the most self righteous and self blinded set of opinions I have had the bad luck to read in a long time.
