George Marlin's Interview

Submitted by Jim Keating, Mar 24, 2007 13:41

I was very disappointed in Mr. Marlin's comment that, if Rudy were the Republican candidate against Clinton, he would sit out the election. One sure way to turn this country into a socialist nanny state would be to indirectly "help" Clinton or Obama to become President. I understand Mr. Marlin's opposition to Rudy, but in this election cycle, national security and keeping taxes down trump everything else. I believe Rudy would do very well in both these areas. Conservatives and republicans MUST rally around the GOP candidate or else be faced with 4 or 8 years of Clinton. McCain isn't my ideal candidate, but I would support him against any democrat, except maybe Lieberman. I have the feeling that Mr. Marlin has some personal issues with Rudy and he's letting them get in the way of common sense. All of us conservatives would love to have a candidate like Reagan (and maybe Thompson is the one), but we need to keep our eye on making sure we win next year and put up a candidate that has a REAL chance of winning. The stakes are too great!
