I agree completely that Giuliani would be a disaster for true Conservatives. His entire aura is forever linked to 9/11. Like all so-call Republicans that are adored by the mainstream media, they latch onto one piece of their background and downplay others. I won't ever forget that he backed Mario Cuomo of all people against Pataki. Believe me I'm no great fan of Pataki, but as another poster hinted, I'm pragmatic enough to know that Pataki has to be far better than the brand of liberal socialism that Cuomo brought upon the state. It seems that a Conservative has to overcome the advantages that moderate Republicans like McCain and Giuliani get by being embraced by the big media outlets. Let's hope Sen. Thompson's charisma is enough to rise above that obstacle!
