When I read her book I was detached.

When I saw the play last week, with Ms. Didion seated behind me, at the end of the performance I wanted to ask, "And you're telling us this story why?"

Grief is hard. Six years ago at thirty-seven I buried a husband and became a single Mom. The only thing I fear in life is losing one of my two children. Didion went through something horrific in simulcast. She's not found what she needs and we, who choose to, are paying to watch her try to find or avoid it.

I wish her peace and I'm done with her story.
