I can understand people protesting evictions of tenants who have honored their leases, but why shouldn't Columbia be able to evict someone who has stopped paying? His back rent is roughly the amount three undergrads pay for full tuition for a year. Their families pay so the kids can get a Columbia education, not so a mechanic can operate his business rent-free.
