I appreciate your point about the corruption. Specifically, you said and I quote, "So why would we want to go back and open up the system to that corruption again?"

Your statement presupposes that there is no corruption currently existing under the new structure. This is a fallacious premise given that there are still "no-bid" contracts being granted and the DOE can not account for approximately $50 million as was recently reported in the Sun.

Unfortunately, the mayor and current DOE administrators would like everyone to think that corruption, patronage and favoritism are gone. They are not; they are alive and well, existing as the direct progeny of Boss Tweed, Jimmy Walker and Tammany Hall.
