I am almost totally ashamed to say that I live in New York City. With Bloomberg as Mayor, we are forced to listen to his simplistic platitudes about complex civil rights issues (that citizens should submit to bureaucratic fiat to purchase and use firearms for defense of self and home) and endure his prejudicial statements at staged press conferences regarding even police use of firearms, rendering his (and our) own police officers intimidated and essentially disarmed. Mayor Bloomberg would expunge the Second Amendment from the U.S. Constitution, perhaps burning the entire document if he had enough security forces around him. He is no champion of individual, human, or civil rights. He is a statist, one who believes in the supremacy of the state (or large city dictatorship). There is no room for civil rights in his city, just mere political expediency.
