I remember when Lilo Galante got whacked in the summer of 79. I had just met him a few months before when he came by Joe Massino's joint, J&J catering. I worked there for 2 years after I graduated HS, because it was around the corner from my house in Maspeth. I used to do cooking, catering, running the trucks and various other odd jobs for Joey. I saw him, Sal Vitale, Carmine Peluso, Tony Green, Tutti Franceze, and a host of others on pretty much a daily basis during my tenure there. Sonny Black used to stop by every so often. It was actually a great job! I used to hang out with Goldie once in a while and Tony Green's son Anthony, I knew Addy, Joey's oldest daughter pretty well because she was the same age as me. I even used to walk his pet doberman Dante! But after 2 years I needed to be more career minded and joined the Air Force. I retired 4 years ago as a Chief Master Sergeant (E-9) after 23 years and ended up living and working in Okinawa, Japan. I'm looking at moving back to the states in the near future. Because I've lived overseas for over 20 years and didn't have the luxury of cable or satellite, I never saw the Sopranos unitl last year when my daughter bought me Season 3 for my birthday. I watched the enitre set on the weekend, went to Amazon and bought seasons 1,2,4, and 5 and watched them all pretty much straight through. Thanks to the internet,, when Season 6 came out I downloaded every episode after it aired and stayed in touch. Looking forward to the next couple of months to see how it all pans out. Seeing this series..I can relate and it brought me right back home! I just wanted to share this little story!!
