Until the world gets serious about Iran, they will continue to provoke the civilized countries to the brink. After all, Iran actually gets rewarded for "bad bahavior" - to borrow a condescending phrase from them. Every time they do something like this, the price of oil shoots up, propping their near bankrupt system up a little longer, and making it seem like God is on their side. They are where they are solely because of geological good fortune and certianly not because their theocratic model works. The only non-military way to confront them is to employ the only embargo that can work: stop buying their friggin oil! Also, stop shippng them refined gasoline. If the rest of the world would agree to do this for at least a month, they would see either capitulation from Iran, or perhaps, violent regime change. Either would be welcome.
Of course, the sad truth is, we are all so dependent on our luxuries that a global embargo would be very difficult to achieve. Perhaps the mullahs are right after all, when they say the west has grown too soft for a fight.
