Excuse me - the jury may still be out on whether global warming is caused by human activity (burning fossil fuels), but it is a well known fact that coal burning power plants are the primary reason that so many fish and fowl in our lakes and oceans are too poisonous for human consumption. Mercury levels are so high these days, virtually everywhere, even canned tuna can no be eaten more than a couple of times a month.
I completely agree with all the sentiments in this article about the global warming alarmists - it is more a political agenda than a scientific one, and the perfect excuse for a global government body to be formed. Our civil rights are in serious jeopardy here in America, and anyone with half a brain can already see the handwriting on the wall.
To ignore the environmental damage that has been wrought by older technology coal burning, however, only serves to foster the popular image of conservatives as rapers of the environment. Come on - let's get with it and start putting together an environmental agenda that is practical and effective, rather than burying our heads in the sand and leaving these issues up to misguided and misinformed treehuggers.
