Thank you for paying attention to the Roosevelt Island community and one of its problems.
Three years ago a fire at the Ravenswood electric generating plant cut access to/from Roosevelt Island for four hours, and at a time when the subway and overhead cable car were not operating.
After promising to do so, the state agency (RIOC) responsible for operating the island has yet to come with any plan to deal with the ongoing possibility of a repeat.

This is great idea.
That elevator should be high-speed elevator like one at NYC FIrehouse Museum.
