Roosevelt Islanders Seek New Escape Routes

I could see where this would be difficult to implement, but what about a free standing pedestrian bridge, similar to the one that connects Manhattan and Randalls Island? It could go from the area around the subway station to 63rd St, or the area near Manhattan Park to 72nd st. I cant imagine that would be too costly to build, and pedestrian access to Manhattan is long overdue. The subway is too crowded, and you have to forgive people who view the tram as a deathtrap, whether logical or not.
