If it is somewhat of an open questionable whether a partisan representative should be taking over diplomatic responsibilities. I would expect such diplomacy would be the responsibility of our executive branch. Maybe there should be more domestic criticism for any party official or private individuals that feel they should do so!

But I was horrified that someone so closely associated with the US, would use the platform of world news to say they represent the position of Israel. One risk of such a stunt, is just what we have observed. Olmert has every right to say she didn't get it right (or maybe she doesn't get it). If I were the next Congressional Representative from my district, I'd certainly not want the whole world to know of my propensity for goofing things up!
