Can Culture Be Bought In the Gulf ?

Submitted by gisele qayaleh, Apr 5, 2007 18:11

The design is that of the Centre for Performing Arts by Zaha Hadid and not that of the Gugenheim as mentioned. They are two different things.

I find the article very bitter and lacking objectivity. The author pours out his comments with so much hatred,to a point that alienates the reader.

The original population of the Gulf has come a long way, thanks to their higher education and their constant exposure to other nationalities, and I think they will benefit from and appreciate this interaction between East and West.

I wonder why the author has neither mentioned the Marine Museum that will reflect the natural beauty within the Gulf waters, nor the Shaikh Zayed Musem that will house the local heritage of the area. The Classical Museum that will house the Louvre is a celebration of the breathtaking beauty and refinement of Islamic art.
