U.S. Lawyers: Libby May Have Disclosed Iraq Secrets

Submitted by Jim, Nov 17, 2006 09:53

In other news... Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald asked to add charges of placing ones shoes and socks on in the incorrect order against Scooter Libby today. Mr. Fitzgerald argued in his brief to the court that Mr. Libby clearly, and with obvious intent, placed his right sock and right shoe on followed by his left sock and his left shoe when procedure calls for both socks to be installed prior to either shoe. He also claimed that Mr. Libby lied to the prosecutor when he claimed he "could not recall" whether he put the left or right set on first.

Come on people!! Why are we talking about things like this when the obvious story is that Joe Wilson flat-out lied in his op-ed to the NY Times?? Fitzgerald is trying to nail Libby on disclosing the fact that Plame had her husband sent on the trip when this is obviously true. Now, he's trying to nail him on a technicality for disclosing conclusions from a NIE. What does the NIE say - I guess to some it's irrelevant but it says that Iraq was vigourously pursuing nuclear materials in Africa - directly contradicting Joe Wilson's story.

How is that he Bush haters out there can conveniently ignore the elephant in the room just because it proves our President was right - Saddam was pursuing nuclear weapons! End of story!

How can the media bash Bush for putting up a web site that disclosed information about Saddam secret weapons programs while ignoring the fact he had secret weapons programs?

These political games that people are playing are costing real people their lives and will likely result in the nuclear annihilation of Israel. But who cares? As long as Bush looks bad and Queen Pelosi can run the show!
