2008 Race Draws Bumper Crop of Presidential Hamlets

Just picture in your minds Newt Gingrich announcing his candidacy for president. He would cause national chaos for the current candidates and unite the Republican party which seems almost like a political vagabond because of the lack of a candidate who is a true conservative and can actually win.

Conservative Republicans, from the average citizen to the legendary Rush Limbaugh, acknowledge one thing: there is currently a lack of leadership in the Republican party and if a leader presents him(her)self they will shock the country with their success and probably win the White House. America is a center-right nation, regardless of the recent mid-term elections, unpopularity of the War on Terror, or confusing decisions and actions of the current Republican president, and if a right-wing candidate who can convince voters that he/she can win enters the race, I predict a landslide victory for that candidate.

That is why I believe that Newt will run for president. There is no viable candidate who is willing (or has the competence) to adopt the ideas that Newt insists are essential for winning the future. Also, with the exception of Condoleeza Rice who disappointingly decided against a White House bid, none of the current top-tier candidates has a solid conservative record.

Then there are Newt's political and oratorical skills that also point to a very probable White House campaign and victory. Unlike Hillary Clinton, John McCain, and even Rudy Giuliani, Newt is too politically savvy to weaken his campaign with foolish statements and proclamations. And unlike Barack Obama he understands the long-term -- but critical -- need to balance style with true substance.

Newt has the conservative record, name recognition, intelligence, experience, support, and, I strongly believe, the desire needed to win the White House in such a critical time in our nation's history. Now just imagine, in the general election, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich and vice presidential candidate Condoleeza Rice...
