I've seen the show, and think your assessment is pretty fair, although why everyone thinks Stephanie J Block is channeling Celine Dion escapes me. Maybe I haven't watched Celine enough, the thought never occurred to me. I've enjoyed discovering the story of Grace O'Malley, and while The Pirate Queen could only touch on it, I got other books to flesh out the picture.
