Can Culture Be Bought In the Gulf ?

Submitted by Zein, Apr 9, 2007 11:32

I am a citizen of one of the most ancient countries in the world (mentioned in your article), I live in the UAE since 2004 and I want to say that if you think you have a point I am sorry to say no you dont. This country is only 35 year old and they have reached a level of education and sophistication where non of the pre-mentioned countries would acheive through the coming 35 years. It is not wrong to make culture or even to buy it, yes these people have a lot of money but they are using it to build their own country and elevate their people and before judging them so harshely (as you did in your article) please make a visit to the"'cultural countries' in the Arab world and try to make a "culturla" chat with one of its avrege citizen and I assure you the result is shocking.
