Yes, blame everything on the teachers. Compare us to the gun lobby. Why not? We are the Mayor's whipping boys for his continually failed plans. This is just one of the multiple attempts to change the system; all of the previous ones have failed. He does not consult with educators; he has hires people from the private sector many of whom have had little if any real educational experience outside of their own education. Being a student does nto qualify one to be a teacher.

Look who is supporting Bloomberg. Such luminaries as Columbia University that has a HUGE contract with Dept of Education, other who either have charter schools or who want to open them. Do you know who opposes these changes? Come down to any meeting with Mr. Klein about this new reorganization and listen the overwhelming number of parents and community leaders. There are many public groups who are opposed to these changes

Free speech, in the form of opposition to what is an ill-conceived plan, whether from a parent of a child in the public school or the teacher's union is being dismissed as supporting "criminal" behavior. Shame on you Mr. Bloomberg for denying first amendment rights to anyone.
