To paraphrase a political pundit - "democracy is giving the people what they want, and giving it to them good and hard..." We constantly whine about politicians who are only concerned with polls, who only try to look good for the cameras, and who suck up to special interests and the story-of-the-week. Now we have a politician who tells us straight up what he thinks, is 100% honest about his position (a position which, in fact, was shared by all the candidates 4 years ago) and we then allow our politicized media to jump all over him for it. Why do we wonder why we get politicians we don't trust???
