...there are actually are two others that make Shea Stadium look like the Taj Mahal. One is the late but always lamented Olympic Stadium in Montreal... simply the most uncomfortable dungeon I've ever seen. The next is RFK Stadium in Washington... an absolute dive in one of the worst neighborhoods you could ever imagine. The best line about Shea Stadium I ever heard was on The Fan... when one caller said Shea had all the charm of a car wash. Shea was such a non-entity as a site that it was very easy to pay attention to the ballclubs that played there. I won't miss it.
