Protect Whistleblowers

I applaud the position that Randi Weingarten has taken regarding protecting whistle blowers from retaliation. Who knows better about what's really going on in schools than the teachers who are in attendance while compliance regulations are breached.

Such teachers need to be protected from vicious and unlawful retaliation, especially when the retaliation comes from some school leaders who refuse to prioritize what's best for kids. It is a hard fact that this unfortunate scenario does, indeed, play itself out in some schools that are contracted by the City of New York to provide Special Education services to children with disabilities.

Instead of addressing the problems that whistle blowers report, the knee-jerk reaction is to get rid of these teachers and malign them in any way possible, even if it means colluding unlawfully against them.

Thank you Randi Weingarten. You are a true inspiration for those who fight this noble battle on a daily basis.
