"Now Republicans need to show they realize their defeat was a call for them to return to their principles. Secure in the knowledge that Americans didn't vote "for" the Democrats — since there wasn't any platform for which to vote — Republicans now have an opportunity to spend the next two years giving Americans something to support. The last time they did that, in 1994, they did so under the leadership of Newt Gingrich, a committed fiscal conservative who could speak credibly about fiscal discipline."

I take this quote from the article printed on 11.17.06, and i ask what priciples are you speaking of when you say the republican party needsto return to them? as far as i know we never left them. i am for defeating terrorists any way possible (without violating the bill of rights), i am for giving buisiness owners tax breaks (so they may invest in thier buisinesses and thus create more jobs ... ect ect ) , i am for finishing what this country starts and not CUTTING and RUNNING like thoes in SLP party (secular liberal "progressive")(tho thier ideas are by no means progressive they are regressive) (SLP can also be reffered to as the dummy... errr the democrats).

I know that some republican party members have done some things for which they have removed from office for, but for anyone to say we haveleft our principles behind is silly. The democrats have lied and spindoctored thier way to an ill gotten gain in both houses.... and even after thier so called "victory" they show the same signs as they did 12 years ago... the inability to stop infighting and get on with thier jobs. I certainly hopethat what i have been hearing about some of these new dems is true, but I dont trust them, and it really scaresthe hell out of me to think that Nancy Pelosi is third inline to being POTUS if god forbid anything happend to our current prsident and vp..

when ever I see her on the boobtube flapping her jaws about something she knows bearly anything about I get the feeling that I am seeing the real life version of the movie the OMEN....
